PaintShop Pro X8 Crash on Save-As

Post by tecknomage »

RE: PaintShop Pro X8 64bit on Win7 Pro 64bit

I have several GIF files, when I try [Save As] JPG file on any one file, PSP X8 crashes (stops responding) :(

I did not have this problem with my old PSP X6, so what's wrong :?:

I've run into and have read about a number of problems with saving. Here are a couple of suggestions:

- I assume you have other programs running. When the program is not responding press [Ctrl-Tab] Alt-Tab ( must have been a senior moment when I first wrote Ctrl-), which takes you to a different application/program, then press Alt-Tab again to come back to X8. If you're lucky you may find the interface screen had been hidden underneath and is now on top to continue with your save.

- Try Save first, then Save As for the jpg - clutching at straws here.

Did you find a fix for this? I have the same, or very similar, problem.

I've got a .gif file I want to edit and save with transparency. I click save as, then options to set the transparency - and it crashes.

Same here - try to save any .gif file and PSP X8 ceases to respond. No problems with my PSP X7 version.

I'm having other issues with X8 and Windows 10, but a few minutes ago I opened a folder that had a GIF in it and Windows 10 threw up some warning that I just ignored, closed the warning box, and went about biz as usual. Seemed odd.

However, PSP X8 was recently launched so it may have been residing in the background and picked up the GIF too. I cannot get PSP X8 to fully unload on closing so it seems to remains in hiding and messes up my colorspace defaults until I re-boot.

I am also having the same issue, I have been doing a lot of pixel stuff and when I try to save it as a gif it crashes, I am on a windows 10 pc using paint shop pro x8 the 32 bit. My laptop is a gaming computer and should be able to handle this. I don't know what is going on and would like some help with this.

Thanks!

BTW, PSP X9 does the same thing - i.e. crash when trying to save a GIF file.
