Heart shaped Transition in VideoStudio

Post by yts62 »

Can anyone tell me where to get a heart shaped transition for VideoStudio?

I would like to transition from a still picture to another still picture with a heart begining in the center of the first picture and growing outward with the second picture inside the heart until the second picture is full on the screen.

Thanks!

i think this is available in Microsoft Movie Maker 2 if you have XP.

beaware you need to have AVi footage. It will accept mpg2 but wil be destructive as it doesnt have smartrender.

Dave,

I'm aware that the heart is available in Movie Maker. That is the software I use the most.

I'd like to start using Video Studio but I really need the heart shape.

Thanks,
Jim

a movie created in WMM2 can be inported into VS8. So long as it is DV.AVI the process will not be destuctive. you can try MPG2 as it accepts that but you get an DV.AVI movie at the end still.

I dont understand why you cant use this to complement VS8??

I can think of 2 possible ways to accomplish the heart shaped transition.

1. Create a black and white graphic file of a heart. Make the background solid black and apply a gradiation to the heart from black to white.
Use the Mask transition and edit it: click the "Open Mask" button and select the heart graphic. You may need to play with it a bit to get a good transition.

2. Use ULead COOL3d, hit the edit button, then insert graphic. From there you can create a box with a heart inside of it (It's a bit of a pain to use this function but with out them giving us a better way to create objects I guess it will have to do)

Or use the standalone heart in the objects area. If you use the heart object you'll need to edit the bevel, texture and color.

Then use Cool 3d to make it move and zoom, assign textures or whatever you like. Put that into your VideoStudio in the overlay track at a transition area.
With a bit of creativity you could make this work well.
