I made a video but i wanted to put a title on the title track. However, the very first part of the video is multicolored. So when I created the title and put it on the title track, it overlayed on top of the video and it's too hard to read the title. So I tried to move the video over to the right a little but I found out that it wouldn't move.
So I put the tltle on the video track instead and it works. Did I do the right thing?
Does the title have to be on the title track?

Once you have created a title there is no problem at all with moving it to any of the video tracks - whichever you like
You cannot have a space at the beginning of the video in the top track - but you can put a still image or a colour block in there to go behind the title - just drag an image or block down from the library to the left hand end of the top track and everything there will automatically move right to make room for it
You can find colour blocks by first clicking on the little flower icon at the side of the preview screen and the library will show coloured patterns - at the top left corner of the library panel is a little drop down box - click on the little arrow and select "color" then just drag one of the colours down to the beginning of your video - if there is not a colour you like then you can change or add new ones

Re: Does the title have to be on the title track?
Brian, your Great!
That is the information I needed. I guess one of the reasons for a title track is so that it overlays on top of the video. But in my case, I couldn't change the font to a color that could be seen over the video.
I really appreciate the answer. I didn't know about the color block that you mentioned. There's much more to VS than I thought there was but that's what makes it fun.
Thanks again.

You can change the colour of the text in a title to any colour under the sun - no restrictions on font colour - or give it it's own "backdrop" to cover a background
