WinDVD11 Pro Update to SP5 - The serial number is invalid.

Post by earnolmartin »

Hi Guys,

I've had WinDVD11 Pro for years, but when I try to install SP5, I get the error of:

"The serial number is invalid."

It then removes my installation completely. What is going on? My serial number is perfectly valid and shows up under my Corel account. Is there anything I can do?

Started from a working copy of WinDVD Pro 11 on Windows 10. SP5 uninstalled the working copy, threw an invalid serial number error, and left me with no working copy installed.

I rebooted after it uninstalled WinDVD, reinstalled from original ESD copy, rebooted, and WinDVD will not run at all. Tried to install the SP 5 patch again, and it installed a Google toolbar that I didn't authorize and uninstalled the now non-working copy of WinDVD Pro 11.

Rebooted again, reinstalled WinDVD Pro 11 again, rebooted once more and am left with a non-working copy of WinDVD Pro 11 on my system.

Both of my serial numbers show up on my product page, so they should have been valid.

Same problem here, WinDVD 11 Pro would not open (no errors are displayed or logged to Eventvwr the app just doesn't open). Finally managed to get sp5 installed after receiving the invalid serial number error at first but still no change - the application simply no longer launches.

Sadly, no. I have the pro (trial) version and it won't work on Windows 10, so I tried the PRO SP 5 and I get the "Invalid serial number" and uninstall...

any clues?
