Hello, I have been using PSP for years but I recently bought a new laptop and now I'm having trouble naming files. I've been checking everything I can think of to figure out what I'm doing wrong but I don't know what I'm missing.
For an example:
I'll save a file and name it: fall trees1.jpg
When I want to name the next file, I'll try -- fall trees1a.jpg fall trees2.jpg falltrees2.jpg but I keep getting the message that a file with the same name already exists. The only way that I can use a similar name for the second file is if I save it in another file format or if I save it in another folder and then move the 2 files into the same folder after they have both been saved.
Please help me figure out why I'm getting the message that the file name already exists. thank you!

Re: Saving Files
I'm using PSPx7 and have a similar file naming system. All my versions have ...mod01, mod02, mod03 on the end. Never had an issue. I can't help other than suggest a Windows problem.
Maybe someone else can come up with something more positive.
regards

Re: Saving Files
I'm on Windows 7 Pro; not Windows 10 so this may not work for you.
Try putting the images you want to rename in the same folder:
1. Control A to select all of them
2. Either right-click on one of them and select Rename or F2 to rename
3. Type your new name and hit enter. All will have the same name with a 1, 2, 3 etc. appended.
Or if you want to give them each a unique name follow the above steps and instead of hitting enter in step 3 use the tab key to move from one image to the next.

Re: Saving Files
Try putting a space after the title before the suffix- I usually do this and have had no problems.
