How to combine clips so I can Time-lapse them

Post by rkstudio »

I made a demo video of myself painting a picture and I edited out the useless parts and ended up with 57 clips. At least that's how many I think I have according to when I switch to Storyboard view. Anyway, I want to time-lapse the whole project but I think I should have done that first, before editing. Is there any way to select all the clips so I can time-lapse the whole thing? I know that 'control A' selects all the clips, but the options to work with when I right click, are few, and time-lapse is grayed out.
Is there any way I can do this without having to do each clip one by one?

I would render out the timeline to a complete new video - using "same as first video clip" to preserve the quality and then put the new video into the timeline to add timelapse

Ok thanks, Brian. I don't know what's meant by "render out", but I'll find out. I never used that option before.

Hi

By “Render” we mean convert the project into one video file

Go to Share – create Video File, there is an option for “same as first clip”
Hopefully that is available.
Render / convert the project to a single video file.
Start a new project and add the new file, apply timelapse – render again to Same as First Clip

Hello Trevor,

I'm really glad you replied to this. I was looking everywhere for the last 20 minutes to find the word "Render" somewhere and it doesn't exist in VS. Now I get it. I'll follow your instructions.

Thanks again.
