New PC platform - move up to X7 or X8?

Post by edwinn »

Hi, have recently ordered a new i7 PC with 16 GB of RAM, and would like to move forward from X4, which was installed in 2011 on a small form-factor PC during a year-long contract job. Still using that little PC today (right this min) with X4.

Both X5 and X6 would not run on this PC. They would crash after installing. X7 was a bit disappointing due to some bugs, like "desktop" leaking into the EDIT workspace around boarders, and I had "issues" with some of the new tool interfaces which seemed sophomoric. Also the damn gradient 'shadows' around thumbnails and images!

Will a new PC help with any of these concerns? or will the same "bugs" still be there?

p.s. have found that PSP is now being developed by Ulead of Taiwan? and Ulead is a subsidiary of Corel? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulead_Systems that kinda' explains a lot.

If it was up to me, I'd go for X8 32-bit, which I use all the time.
I still have X5 and X6 installed on my Windows7 computer, but rarely use them.

Corel bought ULead years ago, with that they inherited the ULead Development Team who are now in charge of PSP, AfterShot Pro etc.
So yes, the development team live in Taipei :-)
