I have no problem with avi camcorder files but my panasonic fz200 mp4 720p files crashes the program endlessly when editing and at times in rendering. I have completed content done in the camera files but it is difficult. I have a phenom 2 1045 overclocked to 3.3 ghz with a AMD 7850 graphics card (gaming computer) and its fast. A 500 gb hard drive (slower not ssd) and 8 gb of ddr3 memory. I am running windows 7 ultimate with 64 bit system.
'
It just freezes when adding video, manipulating sound levels of added video, and then I have to remove VX7 from the task manager and start over. I have removed the program twice and re-installed it. The first time it seemed to help with a problem of not being able to render the file. But it is not working this time where the program is in the editing mode. I have uploaded the update (only one as far as it shows) that is supposed to help with mp4 file crashes.
Closing and restarting 10 times is getting frustrating. But in searching very few others seem to have this problem. I have about 200 gb available on hard drive so its not starving for space. It may be that it needs more than 8gb of ram but it shouldn't.

Re: VX7 Ult keeps freezing with mp4
Please post the properties of your mp4 video. VS X7 and even VX X8 has had issues with some mp4 files. The latest VS 8.5 is much better with my GH4 Panasonic mp4 files. You may ultimately need to upgrade to VS 8.5

Re: VX7 Ult keeps freezing with mp4
Hi
There have been some issues with Mov and MP4 types, there are many different types and not surprising that sometimes these cause problems.
Corel did provide several Hot fixes, the latest should be available via their web support pages, however I have has problems downloading from here.
http://howto.corel.com/en/c/Unable_to_i ... ltimate_X7
The fix is a simple matter of replacing a file called ulmp4lib.dll.
I don’t know if this file will help you but worth a try, first make a copy of the original file, then you can always revert if you wish.
I have made files available from this post

Re: VX7 Ult keeps freezing with mp4
Thank you very much for the replies.
Looking at the resource monitor in task manager, I noticed the 4th and 5th core of my 6 core processor were clipping (overworking 100%). I thought it might have something to do with the overclocking. I reduced the overclock from 3.45 to 3.3 and had a couple of freezes and then none. It could be the initial freezes stopped after re-booting after the changes I did in bios to the overclock rate without rebooting. Anyway, Corel is working like it should and is performing its functions very fast rather than hanging up.
I had read about the mp4 file problems and it was not having any problems with the avi camcorder editing and exporting at all (done only days ago), so, yeah, the mp4 files were an issue before and an issue recently. If I have any further issues i'll be back.
Once again thank you for the answers and I may have to change the files as suggested, the mp4 is touchy and I am going to move into more MP4 HD work than before so I'll need a fix. Its good to know the X8.5 is more stable in that regard? Hopefully. Thanks
