Saving a recorded script?

Post by terrypin »

Am I right that the only way to save a recorded script is to use File > Script > Save Recording. (Not accurately described in Help.) I'm surprised it's not conveniently with the other icons in the Script Toolbar.

Also, is there no indication when the recording has stopped? After I click the Stop button I see nothing change, and it's only when I go to the menu and find that Save Recording option is accessible (not greyed) that I get evidence it is recorded.

P.S. One odd quirk: I saved a script as Test but it never appeared in the folder. On changing it to Test-1, it did. On changing it back to Test, it disappeared again. Some forbidden name or what?

Terry - looks like you are missing an icon. The one on the far right is the save script icon.

I see you are using an older Jasc version so I don't know if that is the difference or not.

Thanks Kathy, yes - and the good news is that it's come back!

The absence persisted after several PSP8 restarts, but then after yet another restart (I think followed by re-opening the workspace), it was there again.

I work with scripts very infrequently and now have several other queries about them. I'll continue experimenting but expect I'll soon be back with another post or three. :)
