whitebalance copy/paste does not work as expected since 2.0

Post by rpos »

hi,

I observed the issue a long time ago (I cannot remember exactly, but it was probably after upgrade from 2.0.x to 2.1.x). I've tried to find the defect report on the forum, but I found one report only, which was not resolved.

Issue:
* process a raw file (in my case it is CR2 of Canon Powershot S110, but tested on another raw files downloaded from inet - e.q., Nikon, Pentax, ...)
* set whitebalance to one of preset value (sunny/cloudy/..)
* do "copy selective image settings"
** you can see in the dialog, that following settings are selected for copy ( "enable auto white balance" set to true, and "white balance preset" set to "sunny")
* on another raw file do "Paste Image Settings"
** WB setting was changed from "as shot" to "custom kelvin". Moreover it seems, that instead of copying preset, the kelvin setting was copied even if it was not selected for copy in the 'copy selective image settings'

Known Issue, resulting from a messy fix for copying as shot values.
But, as long as kelvin/tint are copied and the destination is set to custom, the actual WB from the source is copied.

thanks for info, but the problem is that each image has different kelvin/tint value for the same wb preset, so it cannot be copied. For example I've got two CR2 files, and when I set WB to sunny, then ASP computes following kelvin/tint values: 4702/44 and 4713/45 ...

Ouch, so I misunderstood your first post.
Time to contact support.

... same to me. Copying the WB "as shot" results in a "custom kelvin" and so the WB doe not fit.

Did you already post a bug report to support?

Corel Support said they can reproduce the error and forwarded it to developers. Let's wait and see.
