Duplicating a video

Post by rkstudio »

I called the subject of this post "Duplicating a video" only because it was for the lack of a better term. I don't know if it fits or not.

My situation is that I created a 30 minute video complete with intros, outros and other things. Now what I want to do is make another version in time-lapse and keep the original too.
What is the usual way to go about that? I uploaded the 30 version to youtube, but I want to make the shorter version too. If I make the shorter version from the long version, will the short version overwrite the long version?

Simply make a copy of the original using Windows Explorer and give it a different name.
Then you can work with the original and nothing will get overwritten.
