Apply auto transition effect

I have a project with over 300 jpeg images in it .I want to have a cross fade transition in between each one .In preferences, under the edit tab I have , in the edit tab, under transition effect, ticked auto add transmission effect .In the default transmission field, I have selected FX cross fade. But this has not achieved want I want(or anything at all). What I am doing wrong

What you have done is correct, does your Edit screen look like this

Yes, looks the same apart from duration and PAL

PAL makes no difference with images so it should work for you, what duration have you set for transitions and what duration do you have for your images

Did you add the images before you set the default transition? If yes, then setting the default transition have no effect. The transitions has to be set before you add the images

I think having the images in the timeline before setting the default transmission is the problem.If I add more images, the cross fade transmission is added automatically though.So, is the answer to drag back all the timeline images into the sub folder , then delete them in the timeline and them drag them all back into the timeline ?

Yes that is the way to do it Ken - the choice needs to be made before any images are put in the time line - then it will work

I'm glad to teach you guys the proper way...
VS has the tool for that , no need to redo Ken,
First, right click on the left side of your track to select all media
than select the crossfade and apply to that track.

no need to select all media

simply select a transition and apply current effect...., either the top icon, or right click transition clip for "apply current effect......"
