zText Plugin : AfterShot 2 Pro 64 bit

Post by rileyrg »

I've downloaded and installed the zText plugin and restarted : the plugin is not showing up in my plugins tab. I have verified it is in the plugins directory in my aftershot home directory. Can someone please advise. Failing that is there an AfterShot way to add a copyright to all selected images?

If your running the new versions of ASP 2.2 or greater the plugin zText doesn't work and needs to be updated by the developer.
Thanks.

Hmm. It might be nice for ASP to let the user know it can't load it. Thanks.

I thought I would give AF2 a try after migrating away to Lightroom a few years ago. so I bought the upgrade.
There is nothing on product page or the plugin page that says the most of the plugins don't work.
Sadly it seems that only a small number of plugins are updated and the plugin page only has compatibility notes for 32/64 bit, nothing about which plugin works for what version - very poor.
Pretty much all of the really useful plugins I used to use in Bibble or AF1 don't work with AF2.3.

Hmm is that (old) Bibble user or (old Bibble) user?

AFX's book tells you (section 9.2 IIRC) how to add a custom script to an output batch. This would enable you to add a Copyright clause on the output image.
If you would like some help in using ImageMagick, feel free to PM me. Alternatively, I recently posted a watermarking script in the plugin forum. Caution - that was a free standing script for all the pictures in a directory, rather than each picture passed through a batch. But the mechanics of watermarking are no different.
