Catalog Folders and file locations

Hi,

I my catalog view I have some folder icons coloured white and some coloured yellow.
It seems that the white folders contain images that are physically located on my network drive (where they are supposed to be).
The yellow folders contain images that are physically located in the local "assets" folder of the catalog directory.

How did they get put into an assets folder?
I imported them the same way.
How do I move them back to the network drive?
