Quicktime encoding disappeared.

Post by algermilitia »

I wanted to convert a video into a MOV file to use in Boris Graffiti, and all the quicktime encoding functions are gone. I can't figure out how to get them back.

Any ideas?

Do you have the latest version of Quicktime installed on your computer

Videostudio needs the Quicktime programme to recognise .mov files

Hi

What version of Video Studio are you using?

Have you tried Share to Create a Video File -- Custom option should provide Quicktime Mov options.

I'm running x6 ultimate. I just uninstalled and reinstalled quicktime 7, and he newest gopro studio, and opened up Boris Graffiti. Now, Videostudio is showing me the option to convert to MOV files, which is what I was trying to do. But, I don't know why it wasn't there before.

And, now that I've restarted videostudio, Quicktime options are gone again.

Added a MOV video clip, and now the quicktime render feature is back. Trying to render to a MOV file.

Render worked....

Why do I need a quicktime clip in Videostudio in order to have the option to render in quicktime appear?

Hi

I don’t quite understand what you are trying to do, nor why you refer to Boris when trying to create a Mov file.

The options from Share tab allows us to render “the project” using Create Video File, there are a few options, one being Quicktime accessed via the Custom option.
You have to add a video to the edit timelines to enable the Create Video File options.

There is a Batch Convert via the File Menu which will convert video files without using the timelines.

I've been using VS X6 Ultimate for a couple years. Boris Graffiti is a program that comes with the Ultimate edition that allows you to create advanced texts and composites. Boris can use video either encoded in AVI or MOV format. I used to use Videostudio to create a MOV file to then upload into Boris to use as a video background for an opening title sequence. Recently, though, the option to encode in a quicktime format has disappeared. I can only get it to come back if I have a quicktime movie in one of the selectable video thumbnails that you pull into your timeline. Then I can render in a quicktime format, either from the custom menu, or the batch convert menu. If I don't have a quicktime movie in my thumbnail video selection area, the quicktime render option disappears.

"Why?" is what I'm trying to figure out.
