Install Info X8
Hi,
I just bought X8 Ultimate.
I am running win 10, and have X3, X6 and X7 installed.
Is there anything I should be aware of that would mess up what is already installed?
TIA,
Leslie

Thanks for the info.
I just remember that at one time the "My PSP" files merged.
Didn't want any minor detail to pass me by.

Re: Install Info X8
I also seem to recall that happening once quite awhile ago when installing a trial of one of the early Corel versions - don't remember which one. I haven't heard anyone complain about that happening with X8. Fingers crossed!Leslie wrote:Thanks for the info.

Fingers, toes and dog paws crossed.
Won't forget a restore point before install. Learned by experience.

Re: Install Info X8
X2 and X3 shared the same My PSP Files folder found in Documents. No biggie really you can get similar with directing file locations to the same folders.
On the other hand all versions since X4 use a set of folders referencing their own number eg X4 has a set of folders Brushes etc under 14.0 in Corel PaintShop Pro, X5 has it in 15.0 in the same folder and each installation of newer versions puts their own set of folders without deleting or upsetting previous.

Re: Install Info X8
It would be nice if Corel had programmed it so that those folders were named with what they contained (e.g., Masks, Borders, etc) rather than just giving them numbers. You'd think that would be a simple programming step.hartpaul wrote:X2 and X3 shared the same My PSP Files folder found in Documents. Re: Install Info X8
But not for localized versions. PSP is available in French, Italian, Dutch, etc. When installing, it asks which languages to install. I'm running both languages : English and French (switching to English when wandering in the english forums and to French when running the PSP French forum).JoeB wrote: It would be nice if Corel had programmed it so that those folders were named with what they contained (e.g., Masks, Borders, etc) rather than just giving them numbers. Some folders are named by numbers in both languages. That's nice because they are common. But others are in each language and it is a mess! Some are duplicated. I have in the same folder 18.0 a sub-folder named "Masques" (French) and another named "Masks" (English). "Masques" content is not available "by default" under PSP English version. It must be activated by hand (in Preferences).
But, of course, I prefer to see folders with name explaining their content.

It's nice to have a reference. I imagine I could rename the numbered ones and then just point PSP to the renamed folders. Thanks!Joelle wrote:Does this help ?
