Corel Update Helper ... how to disable it in PaintShop Pro X7.
It's annoying me.

Do you mean the popup requesting you to upgrade to X8? You can't stop it unless you click the small box usually on the lower left. I agree, these nag, nag, nag popups are extremely annoying.
You could update to X8!

Try going to the menu item Help>Message Preferences and untick the boxes. I don't get nags and must have found a way to stop them. That might have been what I did but can't remember for sure.

It is possible to disable it from Auto Start... this *** thingy uses 15% of CPU!!!

And no, do not upgrade to X8 because of this annoying popup. Switch to Adobe Cloud instead... Worked fine for me

But then you have to put up with the abysmal lack of any significant customization with Photoshop - a holdover of Adobe's from the days when it was mainly aimed at the Mac market. PSP is almost infinitely customizable to suit each customer's workflow and even to provide different workspaces for different projects, and does almost everything PS does - and less expensive besides.
