PSP X8 Ultimate Installation issues

Post by JReed04 »

I have downloaded the trial version as I really want to check this out before I purchase it.... however, it will start to install, gets to 33% then tells me
"Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install." No matter what I do, I cannot get this to install the trial version.... HELP!

Thanks
Jessica

Hi Jessica, I really can't say what's happening with X8 installation. You really need to contact Corel for technical advice with this problem.

Have you tried a number of times to install.
Is anything else doing an install perhaps a Windows 10 update or some other program - can you check your task manager?
Have you tried from Safe mode?
I did a google search on "Windows 10 error another installation is in progress"
and came up with this:

Some have had same trouble with Corel Painter 2016, and have found that disconnecting from the internet allowed installation to complete. Some bug in installer that is trying to call home and can't get through so it gets stuck, but installs fine with internet off.

PSPX8 is not compatible with Vista. Simple as that. Corel has abandoned Vista users! You Vista users are just not worth it!!!!
I have just been on remote operation trying to solve this problem with Corel and eventually I was informed that X8 is not compatible with Vista.
I have x6 so thought I would upgrade a week or so ago but it would not install so I contacted Corel and they offered remote assistance.
Isn't it funny how Corel will take your money and ask no questions when they know full well that x8 will not work with Vista?
Isn't it funny when you contact Corel and they ask you for a file of all your computer's specs and they still don't realise that x8 and Vista and not compatible?
Isn't it funny that the Corel support person sends YOU an email for YOU to use to find a link that appears not to exist for YOU to fill in to request a refund????
They should refund me immediately and not make me work to get the refund!!!
When you go to buy X8 they should make it clear that it will not work on Vista!!!
This is what was said in my email -
"You can just complete an easy-to-use online Refund form at:
http://www.cleverbridge.com/?scope=cuse ... upportform

Once you get into the site, kindly select Refund Request in the ISSUE drop-down list."

That link just goes to an email form!!! There is NO ISSUE drop-down list!

I emailed the Support person who sent me the email to that effect and am waiting for a reply.

So now I am very unhappy with Corel who have sold me a product they know will not work on Vista and then make it hard to get a refund! Crikey!
Tell the truth....but gently.

Phil.

Phil - for what it's worth the system requirements for X8 do not list Vista as a supported operating system.

http://www.paintshoppro.com/en/products ... quirements

I followed the link you posted and noticed that there is a drop down box for refund; it's located on the Issue section of the email form.

Hope this helps with your refund.

You are both correct about the email form drop down list thanks. I was being a bit too hasty and did not see it at first and have now received my credit.
Also right about the System requirements page but I never got that far and never thought for a minute that Corel would dump its Vista users particularly as Microsoft is still supporting Vista into 2017.
This means I either have to lump it and stay with X6 or get other software other than Corel.
