Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Hi Danamac
I have tried a few times but I am unable to replicate the problem you are having.
Before you do Share – Disc can you make sure your project properties match the video properties
1 / go to Preferences (F6) – Tick Show Messages…..
2 / Start a new project then add one of your files to the top track, say Yes / Ok to the message.
3 / Delete / remove the video from the top track
4 / Now Share Create Disc – Avchd – opens the burner module – add Video File.
If the above does not help then you should re-install the program.
The fully patched X7 has version number 17.1.0.22

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Followed your steps. The source file is 1.42GB and 10:41. Set disc creation for no menu and folders only. No conversion appeared. The folders creation took 23 seconds. The file created in Streaming folder is 25KB and 13 seconds. I have the latest patch version for X7. I'll reinstall the program and hope for the best.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Reinstall done using original disc. I did not remove old preferences data when uninstall began. Attempted new AVCHD folders using newly rendered AVCHD video file. Same end result, only slightly longer at 02:01. All 5 video files for this project use wav, jpg and mpeg files from the same sources. Only this one has trouble.
Also noted X7 version 17.0.0.249 installed and responds no updates currently available. This is an Ultimate version and I re-installed Boris Graffiti option which also does not appear after doing so, even after complete reboot. This is not going as well as I would like.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
There is definitely a Service Pack 1 and a Hotfix available for X7. Go to Corel.com and click on Support. On the page which appears, choose the Patches & Updates option then look for X7. Or go direct to http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/suppor ... sion-tab=2

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Thank you, I re-installed again, added SP1 and Hotfix, installed plugins. Next repeated setting new project to AVCHD with no video file on timeline. Went to Share - AVCHD disc and added problem file with no menu. Created AVCHD files only. No video conversion posted during process. Source file duration 10:41, file in Streaming folder 02:01.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Hi Danamac
Now you have installed the SP’s what version number are you seeing?
As a last effort, are you getting the same problem if you use other video files.
Is the problem associated with the 10.41 video file only.
Otherwise I can only assume you have a rogue installation file. You indicate having a disc version.
Sometimes installing from Disc can have its own problems, copying the disc content to the hard drive and installing from there can/may help.
Clearly I am clutching at straws here…..
Your profile shows using Windows 8.1 is that correct?
The best solution is to burn Bluray and not AVCHD but that does not fix the problem with AVCHD.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Hi Danamac
Ok a little more progress or a workround
You mentioned copying the video from the Bluray folder, which as far as I know works for you.
So can we burn the Bluray folder to DVD to create that AVCHD hybrid DVD disc.?
I was unsure if that would work as I thought the file structure may be different but I have managed to do that…..
Create a Bluray Folder containing 3 small video files, total 3.5 Gb
Use Img Burn to burn that folder to DVD disc.
More tests needed to check menu structure and whether motion menus work on DVD.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
X7 is version 17.1.0.22. I will try your suggestion using bluray folders to burn DVD with ImgBurn. I did try pasting only the bluray Streaming file into the AVCHD Streaming folder and used ImgBurn to burn a DVD. The DVD would not play. I'll test with no menus.
My only problem occurs with the 10:41 file when burning AVCHD folder. I've tried splitting into two files in different proportions. In both cases one of the files was truncated. If it helps, this whole project consists of 5 video files of a family vacation. My plan is to use 2 files on the first DVD and 3 files on the second. There will be three sets of these to distribute amongst our group. (Yes, a single bluray would hold them all, but I haven't gone to the higher cost of blanks and have no experience with longevity. I also have a good supply of good DVD's.). The 10:41 file is the second on the first DVD. The #2 DVD with 3 file completed AVCHD with no issues, all burned using X7. For now, I've created DVD #1 as a standard DVD with 2 files and no issues. All have menus.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Test failed to create playable DVD with bluray folders, though all files were complete including 10:41. Noted title conversion active using m2ts files from previous AVCHD rendering. Will try new bluray project to render source files without using 10:41. Should these files be AVCHD or Mpeg-4? Then start new project for bluray folder creation and burn with ImgBurn.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Hi
It does not make sense unless the actual 10:41 video files is corrupt.
I assume you have the original VSP project available.
You have probably done this but check the content of the project at 02:01 ish, any unusual edits / filters?
Render the project to Share – AVCHD – choosing an appropriate template.
At the bottom of the panel is Enable Smart Render – deselect that option.
Yes the video has to be MTS types not Mpeg4.
Now Start.
Coffee Time............

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Partial success but hybrid DVD won't play on Sony bluray player. On computer, Cyberlink Power DVD won't play, VLC will play, Potplayer 64 will play if I manually select open bluray disc.
I rendered new AVCHD file from VSP, then closed program. Reopened program and started bluray project going directly to Share-disc to bluray folders. Final Streaming folder is 10:41 and file plays on computer. I also restarted new AVCHD program and repeated Share-disc to AVCHD folders and file in Streaming folder is 2:01. (The file content has mpeg still pics at 6 seconds each with 1 second dissolve between each, no other active filters). There is a dissolve close to 2:01. The issue seems to only happen with this file, which is 1.4GB. I can load the file to Dropbox and send a link to the address of your choice if you'd like to examine it and/or the truncated file for something I'm not seeing. Other than that, I'll have to go find blank blurays and hope it works.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Hi Danamac
Yes please upload the 10 minute video file to DropBox, at least we can test that and if we have the same problems then it must be the file.
Otherwise its your program, and the only difference is you having the Disc version of X7
There should be no problem adding the link to your post, if you do not wish to do that then send me a PM.

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
Hi Danamac
Well I managed to replicate the problem, so would seem that it is a corrupt video file.
What I did was add your 10 minute file to the burner module, I added that twice as I did not have a Ntsc file available,
created a Disc Image, checked the Stream folder and two files at 1 min 19 sec 01 frames, both files identical size at 259,392 Kb
Original was 1.36Gb
Ok it has to be the video file and that points to the project.
Are you able to create a Smart Package of the project , (File - Smart Package) Zip and Upload to the Drop Box.
The package will be much smaller as it does not contain much video.
and do I know what's going on , no idea?

Re: AVCHD files truncated when burned to disc
This is certainly encouraging to narrow down the cause. Here's a link to the Smart Package zip folder, a feature I'm not familiar with. Hope it helps identify the details. It would be great to know what I've done that needs to be avoided.
