Error occured must shut down MF4.

Post by Bolt14 »

I just purchased a new laptop 100gig HD with 1024RAM and picked up MF4 along with it. Problem #1 slow to start up program and very slow transitions from page to page. I had MF3 Disc creator on old computer and it was slow to load on that computer also but I figured it was because lack of memory. Problem #2 When I finally get a movie built and start to burn dvd a message pops up at the very beginning of burn stating error has occured and MF4 must shut down Sorry for the inconvience. Any suggestions?

When I first installed MF4 I had similar problems, slow response etc.
I un-installed the quick-drop and data-add prgrams which helped.
Maybe the packet writing programs conflicted.
The program ran better after installing other programs after MF4 onto
the machine. PowerDvd 5 and VideoStudio9 trial.
It's running OK now on that machine. Maybe because VS9 replaces
some files in the common/ulead/dvd folders. Maybe others, don't know.
(That's what tech support is for).

I did have a new XP installation of another machine without any
other video programs on that or any packet writing software.
Nero was installed but no packet writing (InCd).

I installed MF4, VS9 trial then PowerDvd.
MF4 runs with no real problems other than being a new program.

Tech Support did tell someone to install MF4 and don't reboot.
Install the extra content right after MF4 and then reboot.
Solved his problems.

MF4 does use alot of memory.

Update....Went home last night and unstalled MF4. I then installed MF4, did not reboot then installed extras and the update then rebooted. MF4 now starts right up there is hardly any drag time between video building panes and burned first movie in no time... Good stuff. Another happy ending.

Another bit of proof that there is something really fishy with the code of the MF4 program. Can't wait for Ulead to patch this mess. I for one, will not upgrade to MF4 until I'm satisfied that these weird problems are fixed.
