File-Format Mismatch (GA 5)

I get this message everytime I try to open a video. AVI's, WMW's, MPEG's and so on... They just don't open.

I understand you have to get certain file types to comply with the animator but most, if not all of these files did work previously on my computer. (Before I formatted it)

Will I be-unable to 'open video' files or is there some sort of plug in that is needed. (As far as I'm aware there isn't)

If anyone could help me out it would be appreciated.

Specs:

Windows XP (SP2)
P4 2.8Ghz
512 DDR Ram
80GB Hard drive / 40 GB slave.

Have you tried reinstalling your program? How bout doing it cleanly by deleting its entries in program folders, registry, and installation information folders. Try disabling other programs running in the background before you install and disable USB devices. This could be due to program instability wherein it does not recognize other file-formats. ^_^
