Hi

Well for you Video Studio X6 is not doing that good a job.
Either its Video Studio or a problem with your pc?

I Installed X6 and can create good Mpeg videos
I have uploaded one sample made by X6 to my One Drive folder, same access as first sample.

Try this……………
I have attached a VSP to this post, unzip and open with X6
Relink to your Only Prettier Goochs 9 30 2011 video
Then Share – Create Video File – Same as Project Settings.

Does that create a good video file.?

If NO re-install your Video Studio program

Try a video converter
Download Format Factory, this is a pretty good Video Converter.
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
Take care to deselect the additional options the installer wishes to use, only install Format Factory

Two more to go
Project - Goochs 9 30 201.zip
opens with X6
(1.34 KiB) Downloaded 124 times

Awesome! The Corel linking thing didn't work, but I converted it with the software link you gave me, and burned it through Corel and they both worked! I remembered I do have one other video that I can't seem to find in my files, but is posted to YouTube. Is there a way to download it from there? I've looked, but can't figure out how to do it...

This is the link to it. I can't even remember how to sign into that account anymore. But I figure if I want them all together, I need to do this one too. Is there any way to get it on my computer so I can convert/burn it?

Okay, I figured out how to download it. Not the greatest quality but better than nothing. I'm considering that project finished! Thank you so much! I'm going out of town for a few days, so I will just start a new post when I get back about trying to fix the Mickey Mouse videos. Unless you have an idea on how to do that, but I won't be back on here until Wednesday.

Hi Meg

Uploads to YT get converted by YT so you do not get the same / original when you download, at least that’s my opinion, could be wrong.

If you install the Torch Browser, that has a download manager on its tool bar that seems to work well.
You have to first play the video, whilst playing click the manager button.

Then you can use Format Factory to convert to Mpeg2

Okay, I'm onto the Mickey project, and I've gotten rid of the slow motion the same as the songs, so that's nice. I'm just wondering if there's a way to make it take up more of the screen? I don't know why it recorded like that, it was just taken from a dvr, so the initial recording didn't only take up a quarter of the screen...

Hi Meg

The Micky Mouse video should be viewed in 4:3 ratio.
It was recorded using a small frame size 352 x 480, that’s nearly 4:3

Set your Project Properties to use :-
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: 8000 kbps
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

However some error with Non Square Pixel Rendering has stretched the video vertically, I don’t understand why?

Go to Settings - Project Properties
General tab
Deselect Non Square Pixel Rendering
That should fit the video to fill the 4:3 screen.

Now Share Create Video File – Same as Project Properties

Okay, so I did all of this, but it really doesn't take up any more of the screen. Also, I'm curious why when I'm burning it it says it's 54 minutes, because it's really only 23 minutes or so...

You could always try putting that video clip in one of the overlay tracks. Then it will appear something like the attached image -- small against a much bigger preview screen and with a black background. But the important thing is that yellow dotted box around the clip and the big yellow blobs in the corners and in the middle of the sides. With the mouse cursor, you can click on, say, the blob in the bottom right hand corner of the clip, hold the mouse button down and drag in outwards. The clip will increase in size. To keep the aspect ratio, hold down the Shift key at the same time. It may take a bit of time, but you want to move the increased clip size until it fills the screen. It may require a bit of playing around with the mouse and the blobs to ensure the aspect ratio remains good. But then, when satisfied, you can render and get something which fills the screen in the final video.
VS Overlay Size.jpg
As for why it shows as 54 minutes, I have no idea -- though it would appear to be linked to your earlier problem of the final video running very slow. After all, 54 minutes sound like about twice the actual length of the clip.

Hi Meg

If setting Project Properties as my earlier post does not produce this shape then try Kens option using the Overlay track

Your screen should look like this?
Make sure your project properties are using 4:3
micky mouse 4 3.jpg
If not the same as above -- Can you take a screen shot of the workstation.

Ken I think the Slow Playback was the video pausing / stuttering during play , not that the video played smooth and slow, If you understand my meaning
Video Studio may not like the properties of the AVI using Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder. Although the AVI seems ok on my pc

Meg
The video clip is 54 minutes long and plays at normal speed when rendered to Mpeg2.
That file will fit to standard DVD,

Render the AVI to Mpeg2 then play that on VLC Media Player to check playback quality.
