Hi all, as I mentioned last week, there are a few things I'd like to share with you in terms of progress on the plugins front. Since the release of the 2.2 update for AfterShot / AfterShot Pro, we’ve been getting lots of questions about how the plugin recompile is progressing, especially on the Mac where post-2.2 plugins weren’t working as desired.
As you may know, 2.2 was a major update, dramatically improving AfterShot’s underlying framework, and requiring that all plugins be recompiled. In almost all cases, these plugins have been developed by volunteer members of the AfterShot user community and, as such, each plugin developer owns their own source code.
Over time, some plugin developers have decided to stop supporting their plugins and some are not responding to our efforts to contact them, so obtaining the source code or permission for Corel to help with recompiling has been a problem.
New Plugins Released for ASP 2.2 & Up
When it came time to release ASP 2.2.1, many of our popular plugins were ready for use on Windows and Linux, but Mac plugins needed some extra help. (That help has arrived in the form of a new plugin compile environment for Mac Development… more on that in a minute.)
After another recompile to match up with the Mac's latest framework, I am now happy to announce that Wavelet Denoise, Wavelet Sharpen and zPerspector are now ready for use in AfterShot Pro 2.2 and up on OS X. We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this has caused.
Even More Plugins for Testing
In addition to the new plugins we’re releasing today, some of spoilerhead’s plugins (recently released as open source) have been recompiled by Hansi. On behalf of everyone in the community, thanks guys!
I’ve passed several files on to our development team for testing and we'll get these newly recompiled plugins added to the plugins download page as soon as they are ready.
New Mac Recompile Environment
Finally, I’m excited to announce that we have just recently completed an update to our Mac virtual environment (available to registered plugin developers). This new update will make it so plugins recompiled within the virtual environment will now be compatible with the latest release of Mac OS X. If you're registered as a plugin developer, details have been posted in the private forum. If you aren't registered yet, keep reading...
Become a Plugin Developer!
Plugins are a key part of the AfterShot story, and we plan to keep working to make them more popular and we plan to continue to support plugins and the great devs that make them.
Do you think you’ve got what it takes to create and recompile plugins for AfterShot / AfterShot Pro? We want to hear from you!

Thanks for the update, Alex
Is there any progress on the missing QT-Libs issue that stops the asGPS plugin from being ported to ASP 2.2.X ??? Andreas reported this some months back in time...

It is not clear if they will be included in a later version of ASP. I tried to copy them manually but that did not work. I will have to retry it. Perhaps similiar problems occur on linux and mac systems when there is no QT installed.
