Can one turn off screen updates while a script is running?

Post by gbotes »

Is it possible to turn off screen updating while a script is running to speed up the script a little? I seem to think I read something like this somewhere, but right now I cannot remember.

I do not recall anything like that at all. You can technically turn off Script Output while a script is running. But that only prevents it from printing everything it's doing to the script output palette. "Executing UnsharpMask" "Executing Crop" etc.

But not turning off the UI refresh.

Do you by chance mean "toggle execution mode"? If so, it's the fourth icon from the left on the script toolbar.

Thanks, Kathy_9. No, LeviFiction stated my intention correctly - I wanted to turn off updates to the user interface while the script is running so that the screen would only update at the end of the script. It seems it cannot be done.
