I've just put X6 on my win 8.1 desktop. It's driving me crazy. I've used PSP since it first came out, and never had an issue like this. I bring it up and the "busy" pointer comes up, freezing the entire program. I'll be working on something and it freezes again. Granted, I haven't worked for more than a few minutes at a time so far, but it's enough to make me want to uninstall and desert this program forever...after nearly 20 years!
Another thread said something about it indexing ALL the images on your computer, and in fact, I did leave the program churning blankly for a couple of hours and came back to at least a usable interface. But now, I've brought it up again after I added files in another program, and it's timing out constantly. Does it check for newbies EVERY time you bring it up? Can you turn that feature off? I have other programs that I scan images and docs for lots of reasons that have NOTHING to do with psp.
