I miss the old colour palette

Post by Simon Walden »

Understand why the new palettes were introduced, just wish the old one was still there too.

I do too.
The palettes are too big, take up too much space, leaving less for the Layers Palette, which I have always used below the Materials Palette.

Improvements aren't always improvements :-(

I agree, and for the same reasons.

An alternative for the colour palette taking up real estate from the layers palette is to use auto-hide for it. That way it is always available but out of the way.

Doesn't work for me. When I auto hide it and increase the height of my Layers Palette then mouse over the hidden Materials Palette it's hidden behind the Layers Palette. Am I missing something?

Is your Layers Palette docked? I think that if it is floating it may cover palettes that come out when hovering.

I quite like the newer palettes, but will agree that some are far too big. Some palettes are small and squashed and other huge and spreading. Poor design!
