Yes you mentioned this before but to repeat, "I can't get this to work since as soon as I press the CTRL key on a highlighted file in the library, the clip is deselected and so can't be dragged. If I start dragging the clip and then press the CTRL key before dropping it on the offending clip, then the previous splitting of the clip is not respected and the whole clip is simply dropped on the timeline." Hence this is not useful as I'd have to repeat the work previously done using the "Split Clip" option.lata wrote:I did however manage to replace the clip using Drag from library and Drop over the offending clip whilst holding CTRL key.
Yes but again the previous splitting of the clip is not respected rather the clip is simply dropped onto the timeline although it is trimmed to fit into the specified duration. Obviously this is not useful as I'd have to repeat the work previously done using the "Split Clip" option.lata wrote:You can do the same via Right Click – Replace clip option
Yes and for that reason as previously mentioned "I've given up on trying to relink the VSP on VS X8.5 as it seems much less capable of relinking VSPs that were created in VS X7." Fortunately I had not uninstalled VS X7 and could see that VSPs that were created in VS X7 can be successfully relinked using VS X7 but not so much using VS X8.5. Previously I had erroneously assumed that VS X8.5 could successfully open and relink VSP files created by previous versions of VS. This means that since I've VSP files created in X5, X6, X7 and X8, I must keep all versions of VS installed to successfully open and relink all my VSP files, i.e. there is no guarantee of backward compatibility when opening old VSP files in the latest version of VS which is surprising.lata wrote:I have been able to save the project to open with VSX7
As mentioned above, I have my doubts rather it seems that the Timelapse/Speed bug previously fixed in X7 has reappeared in VS X8.lata wrote:I am sure CVSX8 should open this ok
Don't think that this is an issue since X7 can relink the clip.lata wrote:One thing to note is the project properties are AVI when they should reflect the Videos Properties as Mpeg4?
Thanks for your time.
