Problem with ULEAD Upgrade to Version 9

Post by MarkStrahan »

Hi,

I recently downloaded the upgrade software to version 9. (uvs9_upg_na__e__RTM)

I currently have version 8.

On attempting to install the upgrade I get a message asking to insert the disk containing the file 'layout.bin' and a box comes up looking at a subdirectory on my C:.

Obviously this should not happen but I was wondering what the fix for this was?

Thanks.

You should be able to browse to the temporary directory that the installer created and complete the upgrade. Try Start -> Search and figure out where the directory is by searching for LAYOUT.BIN.

Hi,

Perhaps I wasn't clear...the message asks to PUT IN DISK 1 containing the file layout.bin.

I've searched my hard drive and ULEAD does not seem to have one allocated to it?

Any thoughts?

I understand that. But the same dialog should have a button that lets you browse for another location where the file can be found.

There's a background program interferirng with the installation. Go to Start, run, 'msconfig', do a selective startup, disable startup programs. Restart the computer and try installing again.
