PSP X8 high res screen

Post by tamsin »

I'm having trouble with the size of a couple of things in PSP X8. When working with vector images the square that indicates a node is tiny - very hard to see/hit with a pointer. Also on open/save dialogue the icon at the top of the box for 'go to last folder/up one level/new folder/ etc. are also teeny in proportion to everything else. The other icons/text size etc. are sized correctly it's just those couple of things.

I'm running Windows 10, on a Dell XPS13 (QHD touch screen) and the scalling is 200%.

Ps. another unrelated thing... how do you get the colour pallet in materials to show the gradiant with all the colours instead of shade of one colour?

Thanks

I agree about the nodes being so small. It has been reported to the developers many times over many versions but unfortunately, nothing has been done about it to date, so we can't help with this.

What is the open/save dialogue icon at the top of what box? You'll have to be a little more specific.

When you say scaling are you referring to an increased size for the monitor when viewing pages, if so, 200% is very high. Why do you need it so high?

The Materials Palette/Gradients is for your custom gradients that are saved on your computer. You will only see gradients there if you save a gradient. Making sure the gradient is saved to the custom folders and file locations are set correctly.

Thanks for your help. I upgraded computer and PSP version (from X2) at the same time so I assumed the nodes issue was the computer not the software as the were fine in X2 - that's annoying!

Here are the tiny icons (circled in red).

I mean the scaling settings in Windows, my scaling is so high because I've got a high dpi screen i.e. a 13" screen running 3200x1800 resolution, so everything would be tiny otherwise.

I know HD screens are a newish thing and some older software doesn't cope - so I thought both issues might be related to that.

Lower the resolution and possible increase the size of icons. This is a computer issue and not necessarily a PSP issue. Check with your control panel, display and make a few changes that will help your visibility better. To see larger icons in PSP, right click on the menu bar, customise, options, un-tick show small icons.
