I have installed Aftershot 2 on my windows 10 desktop (which appeared to go with success) however when I try to open the program I get an error mentioning "The catalogue: cachedb (cachedb:C/Program Files/Corel/Corel AfterShot2/build/cache) cannot be locked and will not be opened". The program appears to hang on the opening splash screen with " Starting Catalog Manager" in the lower left corner. The only way to recover from this that I have found is to open the Task Manager and end the process, and then run the program once again as an administrator, which works and I have managed to edit some photos. Does anyone have an idea as to what may be wrong here, I have tried reinstalling the program a few times and also changing the permissions all to no avail. I use a 256gb SSD for my system drive and I have set up for the presets and program to run from the SSD and the catalog to be on an HDD.
I am coming from using Lightroom (many years) and CS4 but I am hacked off by the idea of being forced by Adobe to use their CC so I am in the market for a decent program that I can have installed on my PC Corel is my first port of call and the program all looks good....just these teething troubles to iron out and my ability to learn a new workflow/system.
I would be very grateful for some help with this. many thanks in anticipation.....
Kind regards

Hello
This is odd, I'm sure the default cache location is under your profile (%userprofile%\appdata\local\corel comes to mind). I'd either try to right click, run as admin then under setttings repoint the cache to somewhere inside your profile or (not the best solution, but will work but try to move the cache first), change the perimissions on the folder it's trying to use to give your local admin full control.
The latter is really second choice, you'll be breaking Microsofts security model by storing user specfic data withing the program files tree. So your best option is just to run as admin then repoint it.
Cheers
