Hi Ken

You change the folders view option.
However they may revert to your original view after restarting the pc.

If anyone is interested, on trying to follow
“View the folder in Detail, at the top you should see a bar having Name, Date, Tags, Size etc”
I some how managed to loose the “file edit,view tools, help bar at the top of the screen whilst looking for “details”.I eventually retrieved it by going to organize on the top left going down to layout and clicking menu bar. Thats makes the bar permanent. Without the bar I could not proced further.
I made a test folder with 4 images in it not in date order, 2 of which were the same date but different times.I then went view-sort by-date ascending. They were then put in order with the oldest 1st and the two with the same date but different times were put in time order, oldest 1st.
As advised clicking on change your view got my icon images back
