Honestly, I don't even know what to call it, so I was unable to search properly.
I just upgraded to X6 from X2. Upon opening an image, it automatically looks like this, with no "frame" around it that allows me to move it around in the workspace:
I need the file to look like this, of course:
The answer is probably painfully obvious, and I'm just missing it. But I'm ready to lose my mind. Could someone please give me the magic solution so I can place more than one image in the workspace, side by side?

Go to Window on the menu bar and untick tabbed documents.

Very good, and thank you! You took me halfway -- I unchecked "Tabbed Documents," but then had to actually select "Cascade." Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
