When I started Corel VideoStudio Pro X8 this morning after two weeks away, I was offered an important update that I applied.
After this a hot fix was offered which I again applied.
Now when I start the application it is branded as Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X8.
And has a blue boarder around the window.
Noticing the 'Pro' has been removed, have I lost functionality?
Update, up or downgrade?

Re: Update, up or downgrade?
You should not have lost anything - but gained somethings.
The word 'pro' has no real significance - all current versions of Videostudio are 'Pro' versions - the important difference is whether you have the 'Ultimate' version or not. It is the word Ultimate which signifies the addition of numerous additional plug-insplug-ins
Don't know any thing about a blue border though - mine has not got that.

Mine also has Ultimate on the Splash screen, but then again, I thought it had even before the update and hotfix! And mine, like Brian, does not have a blue border anywhere. In what mode do you see it: full screen? Reduced size on screen? The icon on the desktop?

Hi and thanks.
Ah that sounds good then!
The blue line runs along the top of the screen under the tabs.
Not to worry then

Re: Update, up or downgrade?
Yes, I have that blue line, but again I thought it was always there! It was just that you called it a border, which to my mind would completely enclose the program, not just feature in one part of it...

Hi
The coloured line takes on the colour of the tabs, so when I select Share I see green, Capture being purple.
Some of clips on the timelines also have a similar colour code for Titles / and Audio timelines?
Not sure what they mean other to give a different / easy recognition?

Re: Update, up or downgrade?
looking at screenshots I made of X8 before the SP2 update the line has always been there - it is exactly the same in X7 - so no change there Mike
