Lata

During this line of questioning I have gone to the HELP>Check for updates
and clicked to receive updates....albeit there were never any available/required
so I don't know if this would cover the service pack issue you refer too.

I went to your OneDrive site and downloaded the Latest Mov Fixes.zip
I have windows 8 so I went to the 64x file and saw the ulmp4lib.dll file...

I'm not sure I have enough confidence to over write the existing xx??xxx.dll file
with this one...

FYI
MOV is a wrapper, not a file type.
It is Apples version of AVI
There are hundreds of different file types that can be contained within the MOV wrapper.
It appears to be a h264 file type, but I wonder if SJCAM have made any changes to the codec. I can't find any mention of which codec they use on their website. Could you use a codec identfying programme such as avicodec or gspot to tell us what it is?
These programmes will also tell you if you have the correct codec installed.
Though, if sjcam had changed the file format, they should really supply the codec but there are no downloads on their site.

That message is Corel's strange way of saying the SP is already installed. What version number are you showing under Help > About? My full up to date version of X7 shows as 17.1.0.22 (64 bit). The "1" indicates that SP1 is installed.

FWIW, I have referred your problem, and a similar recent one, to Corel. Hopefully they might come up with something, and of course I will let you know if I hear anything from them.

Hi VSkcap

Replacing the DLL file

I would re-name the original file to "ulmp4lib copy.dll"
Then paste the new file to the folder.
Having that copy you can always revert back to the original file

These are the instructions given by Corel on their site…

Quote:-
If you have installed the 64 bit version of VideoStudio Pro / Ultimate X7 follow these steps:

1. Download and save the hotfix to your computer.
ftp://coreluserd:Qgo69iX7@cfs2.corel.co ... H3/x64.zip
2. Extract the zip file into a new folder.
3. Copy and overwrite the ulmp4lib.dll file to the following location:

Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8
C:\Program Files\Corel\VideoStudio Pro X7

If you have VideoStudio Ultimate X7 the folder name is:
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7

As Ken mentioned he has passed the info to Corel so hopefully Corel will come up with a fix????

Lata.....Ken....

Dance to the music and CELEBRATE !!!

Lata, you had given me the .dll file from your dropBox...so

I went ahead and did what you explained:
re-name the dll in the x7 file, then copy your dll file to x7....
AND
it worked..!

I've imported and played several of the new camera's video clips into x7

thanks for your help and sorry for my reticent's from your (Lata's) earlier help.

I wonder if others have had this problem? or if I'm the lucky one and only...

Interestingly enough, I thought I would apply this fix to see if it helped in another recent thread about much the same thing: no video showing in a .mov file. I installed the new dll and fired up X7, and it immediately crashed! I rebooted to see if that fixed things, but it didn't. Another crash. So I restored the original dll and X7 opened just fine! And that specific video remains black!!
