Purchased Aftershot Pro 2 but only see AfterShot 2 Features

I recently purchased an upgraded from the Aftershot 2 basic program that came with my Paintshop Pro Ultimate X8 purchase since I thought the program had a lot useful features. I uninstalled the basic version and installed the Pro version I have purchased but do not see any of the new Pro features I paid for.

The Splash Screen at start up still shows Aftershot 2, I'm missing the HDR functionality and the Athentech Noise reduction is missing from the Details tab.

When I check the System Info from the within Aftershot it displays the following:

I have verified my order and it says - AfterShot Pro 2 (Windows/Mac/Linux) Upgrade.

I have requested support over a week ago but all I got was email asking if I wanted faster support I should sign for priority service. This does not seem right? Any help would be appreciated. I have been a long time user of PSP since the JASC.

Seems to be a problem with prior version remnants. How did you uninstall Aftershot 2 that came with your PSP X8? You might need to run an uninstaller (like the free Revo Uninstaller) to get all of the registry entries and other leftovers. Then re-start your computer and reinstall your new Aftershot PRO 2.

If that doesn't work keep pressing Corel for support before your warranty period expires- they have gotten so bad at trying to sell additional support like priority etc. etc. If they won't or can't help, demand a refund before your 30 days are up.

It's a shame no one here on this forum answered your post yet.

I have the same problem. I had AfterShot 2, then I purchased PaintShop Pro X8 Ultimate. I then upgraded to AfterShot Pro 2. It is still the standard version. HDR is installed, but doesn't appear in the program. The other features that come with Pro are not there.

I used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall and clean out the registry of every Corel product on my computer. This has not solved the problem. If I install AfterShot Pro 2 as a trial, with no other Corel products installed, it is still the standard version. I installed the trial version on another computer that has never had a Corel program installed on it, and it ran as AfterShot Pro 2.

I have contacted tech support but my case has been bumped up to level 2 due to it's "complexity." If tech support gives me a solution, I will post it here, as it must be affecting other people as well.

Well two possible issues-

1.-Corel's hit or miss Installer- all of their products effected with many users in other forums reporting difficulties from Paintshop Pro to Painter. Some kind of online communications in installer, and some have had success disconnecting from internet when installing. Nevertheless, many complaints to Corel about their installer and no action taken to the point that many just give up and ask for a refund. No reason Corel can't use a standard Windows Installer like InstallShield.

2. Can be some communication problem with Corel's servers that are blocking the upgrade, or some conflict in the installation data.

Message the ASP team on Facebook- I've gotten prompt responses from them.

Forget about Corel tech support- most don't know what they are doing and just want to sell you expedited or extended support plans- shameful.

I had this problem and I resolved it thanks to a combination of these posts. I used Revo, but the professional version, not the free one (Revo Uninstaller Pro). I deleted all my Corel files (Aftershot Pro and Painshop). And then I did two sweeps using Revo. I did a general search for Corel on Revo. I'm not sure how the program is working but I had to do it twice to get everything. So I did it till there was no evidence of anything Corel left. Then I disconnected the computer from online. Then I restarted. I then installed Aftershot Pro 2 but as a trial and not as a licensed product. And dog my cats! It installed without trouble. I then reconnected to the web and put in my licence number and registered. I've also reinstalled Paintshop Pro X7. They're both working fine. Now I'm not sure which of the previous steps are necessary but I just went for everything that was suggested in these posts. Revo is really quite good. I downloaded the trial version but might actually buy it. Nothing like a clean registry to keep your computer humming along and avoid these sorts of problems.
I suspect one day this week I'll get an e-mail response from Corel support and I'll respond in turn with the instructions above so it might help someone else.

I have the same issue, I also have video studio ultimate installed.
going to try installing as trial and then activating with my key afterwards.
I am presently in contact with Corel support via email and they are attempting to assist.

I removed my installed software, hunted through the registry for any leftovers, removed them.
installed the software as a trial, it opens and works as pro
i can't see where to add my key, it doesn't prompt me to do so when I exit the software.

I then tried on a separate machine, the product installs and takes my key but opens as standard.
removed and reinstalled as trial, product shows as pro
exited software, it prompted me for my product key and it rejects my key stating it's not a valid key
if I hit connect and sign in, the software says i haven't purchased the software.
if I sign into the web site to check my products I have purchased, I have both a PRO and a standard product listed with a key for each.

It's doing my head in.

This is getting me nuts. I had Aftershot together with PSP X8 and wanted to upgrade to Aftershot Pro. I have exactly the same issues as described elsewhere in this forum, that is: installed Pro, but it shows up as Standard. Also tried to remove everything, including PSP X8, cleared registry with Revo, rebooted and tried to install trial version as well. ALWAYS, whatever i tried ended up with installation that progressed as "Pro", but when launched, it is the standard version. Splash screen, header information, and lack of features shows that i am using standard edition. Beats me...driving me crazy. The strange thing is that even after clearing everything, rebooting etc...the very first time i launch Aftershot is always comes up with the same directory location and layout on the left side, and opens exactly the same picture as when i used last time. There MUST be somewhere something that still points to standard edition, and opens the same picture. Posted request with support, but they came back with confirmation that i should have Pro version. NOT! The installer did install the HDR directory, and all the way through says it installs the Pro version, but NOT....HEEELP!!!! Anyone any idea? I am using Windows 7 Professional. Thanks!

finally got it working...After several trials, reboots, removals and re-installs i have Aftershop Pro running. In the end i removed every Corel application using Revo Pro, in addition i searched for "Corel" and "Aftershot" manually in the registry, and deleted everything. During the process i rebooted several times. Then i installed the Trial version (not connected) and -bingo- got the Aftershot Pro splash screen and it worked! Then i gradually re-installed other Corel apps i acquired (PSP, Perfectlyclear etc.) and got the thing finally working. Needless to say this took me HOURS..sorry..DAYS. What a tremendous waste of time!!!! And also...pretty risky to fool around in the Wondows Registry. Support? Not heard of...forwarded to level 2, ...because of complexity. What a shame, what a disaster!!!!!! I hope someone wakes up at Corel and get the installers right, NOT taking into account any leftover from previous installation (been PSP user since the beginning...). Suggestion could be to make two separate installers for Basic and Pro version. Whatever..get it right! Damned!!!
