And why am i making a copy to the desktop? As a back up in case things are overwritten?
Does the bonus content populate the vft folder? I guess some, like NB

Where is the bonus feature folder? I see where it is in X8. There is a plug ins folder with the set up files and i can see the vitascene link there. However my version of X9 didnt come a spearate link to download content. It was all in one link and it installed without making a folder for set up files. Also my X8 is 32b and my X9 is 64b.

Not sure what to do here. Thanks for trying to help!!

Hi Ilene

When we download the X9 program we use the Web Installer, that is new to X9.
It first downloads the program including the extra content and saves these to folders on our hard drive, a folder called VideoStudioX9.
We do have the opportunity to change the default save location, but by default the desktop will be used. If we have purchased the Ultimate version then there are 3 folders
1 / Ultimate – contains the main program
2 / Standard Content – completes the installation by adding templates to the library.
3 / Bonus Features – Installs the Prodad and NB packs

The Web Installer then continues to install the entire program including all packages.

We can however install the program manually by accessing the files in the Video Studio X9 folder on your desktop.

1 / Ultimate folder contains a file called “Setup.exe”, double click that to start installing the program.
2 / Standard Content – Installs additional files to the program – double click “setup_CHD.exe”
3 / Bonus Features – installs the Prodad and NB packs by double clicking “setup_Bonus.exe”

It is the Bonus Features that we are asking you to run again as that would re-install Vitascene.

Within the Bonus Features folder is a Plugins_X64 folder, this contains the various packs, You should NOT try installing these separately, only install the pack as a whole by using “setup_Bonus.exe”
Installing “Vitascene_x64.exe” separately will cause the program to show a registration option.
This does not apply to any additional packs purchased directly from ProDad / NB.

The Prodad files / Vitascene are installed to a folder within the main program here
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio X9\vft_plug

It is this folder that the guys are asking that you backup, save to desktop, then you can revert to those should things get worse.

Installing packs purchased directly from NB / ProDad, sorry but I do not have any extra packs so cannot comment on installation.
Not sure what to do here. Thanks for trying to help!!
Locate the Bonus Features folder – double clicking “setup_Bonus.exe” will install the Prodad NB packs.

I found that folder.. that contains this
1 / Ultimate folder contains a file called “Setup.exe”, double click that to start installing the program.
2 / Standard Content – Installs additional files to the program – double click “setup_CHD.exe”
3 / Bonus Features – installs the Prodad and NB packs by double clicking “setup_Bonus.exe”

my bad... I had an IT guy setting up my computer with me and he was very organized and had created a Utility folder on my desktop which contained all the info for the applications we were adding and their respective licence keys. He put the Video Studio install stuff there.

So I get the procedure... copy VFT to desktop as back up, and run setup_Bonus.exe
I'm just a bit worried about your following statement -- "should things get worse"

The vitascene seems to be looking for a registration file
license2.jpg
Wouldn't It be easier to just locate or obtain this registration file, maybe from Corel?? The Vitascene is installed, just not activated...

If not, I may have to wait on the re-install for a couple weeks, as I've got myself in the middle of a project and I don't want to get myself into a deeper hole.

( It's funny... I asked them at Corel if it was an issue installing X8 after I had installed X9 and they said it wasn't... "they were separate installs, and also one was 32b and one was 64b" -- only went down a version to get the NB transitions that I've been whining about...), never expected other things to go wrong! ARGHHHHH!

thanks!

Hi Ilene

I did not mean to worry you re “If things get worse” I was just saying that you can always copy the old files back if there are any more problems.

When we install the full Pro Dad package provided by Corel we do not receive any registration files.
The plugins are installed automatically and are activated to run within Video Studio. But again the prodad stuff has to be installed as a complete package.

If you try to install say Vitascene individually then you will get the registration error.

As I said I cannot comment on additional packs purchased from NB.

all fixed... I re-ran the bonus installer. Thanks so much for the help! ( always!!!)

btw -- realized that other add-on's had a similar issue -- boris graffiti, rotopen, rotoscript, mercalli -- and now after reinstalling, all seems to be working well.
