Hello. I am trying to fit a HI8 recorded stage show onto a DVD, and it is just a bit too big. I used default capture settings in VS to get the following two files:
I combined these and edited out as much blank tape as I could. I then chose Share, create video file, then save as project settings and got the following:
When I create DVD to add chapters and burn, I find the file is just a bit too big. Are there any tricks for any step, ie capture, edit, or share that could shorten this slightly to fit on the DVD.
Thanks, Rich

Re: Tricks for fitting large files on DVD
A standard 4.7GB DVD can only hold about 60 minutes of video at the best quality (a bitrate of about 8000). Since you final project is about 2.2 hours long it wobviously will not fit on the DVD at that setting. You could reduce the bitrate but then you will lose quality and the DVD could become unwatchable. The best bet would be to burn to a DL DVD (also with reduced bitrate to fit) or split the video over 2 DVDs (reduced bitrate again) or over 3 DVDs at best quality.

Check these programs- ( Womble Easy DVD ) and DVD2ONE, they come in handy at times in certain situations.
