Black Screen on Preview with .MTS

Hello,

I have been a long time user of the Corel Videostudio Editing Series and have come across this problem a few times. When using an .MTS video format,
which my JVC Quad Proof HD Camcorder records in, the Corel Videostudio X7 project previewer simply shows a black screen, and not the video. Obviously
this is frustrating and hard to work with, so are there any solutions to this? I'm currently using Corel Videostudio Pro X7 and uimporting .mts video format.
One possible cause for the black screen is the fact that I am applying a Gamma colour fix to the videos, but for the project I am working on that is
essential. Also know that the occurrence of the black screen isn't consistent. Some .mts files show a black screen in preview while others don't, not to mention
that the clips play perfectly when previewed as a clip but only show black when played as a full project.

How exactly are you 'importing' the .mts media from you camcorder? Do you simply transfer the video to your computer and then open it in VS, or do you have some other workflow? Does JVC, for instance, provide any software for transferring the video from camera to computer? With some other brands, for instance, while the native format in the camera is mts, when transferred using such software it becomes .m2ts which VS normally has no problems with.
