X4 WIndows 10 compatability
Hello, I've been running X4 since it was released, in Windows XP and Win 7 64 bit. I reinstalled after upgrading to Windows 10 and it will not launch. Is X4 compatible? If not then is there a list of PSP versions that are compatible?

Hi
I have just installed X4, that did not launch
Then installed SP1, now the program launched ok.
Not had time to try the program as yet but I guess it will work as usual?
You could right click the icon to Troubleshoot Compatibility, that may get it running?

Re: X4 WIndows 10 compatability
Hi folks,
I'm getting an error message as well with PDP X4 after upgrading to Windows 10. The upgrade went smooth but PSP refuses to work at all. I've even done an uninstall and fresh re-install and still getting the same error message as before.
The error message states :- C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X4\Corel PaintShop Pro.exe
The application has failed to start because it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace tool for more detail.
I've tried to install SP1 but I'm getting a Fatal Error message and the install stops.
Any assistance is appreciated.

Re: X4 WIndows 10 compatability
weescotsman, you may have to reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ libraries that PSPX4 uses.
Sadly I don't know what version it needs.
Quickest method try just reinstalling PSPX4. If that doesn't work then you'll have to reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package. My guess would be that it's either version 2005 or 2008. And installing both won't hurt anything.
You can download these direct from Microsoft.
