Text Editing in VideoStudio Problem :P

Hey friends, I recently bought the VideoStudio X8 Pro and I am having a lot of trouble editing text. It will not let me highlight the text to change it. Here is the history. Wasn't working than yesterday I was directed to do a couple updates and bam it worked!! than after two text It failed again and I have not been able to text sense. Please help if ya can?

Hi Kathryn

And welcome to the forums

Make sure you click to select the Title Clip on the timeline.

Depending on the animation set the text may show on the preview screen
Click the screen and click the text, should show a box around the text, now double click the characters to place curser, type in your text.

Does that work?

No this is the problem. I cannot highlight and get the cursor active to be able to change it. It worked twice after I was directed to download those two updates and than it quit again and have not been able to do it sense. I just reinstalled the whole program and updated it and it will not work

so frustrating LOL

You mean you cannot insert the mouse cursor within the yellow dashed box around the text and then click? Do you actually see a yellow dashed box?

yes and I do see the yellow box, but cannot highlight the text in it or activate the cursor to change anything. It is dead.

I can use the subtitle editing but not the other text.

Hi

Very strange, am a little busy at the moment.

But can you make sure you are in Timeline View and not Storyboard view, icons left of timeline
Sorry have to dash….

I uninstalled my software and I am going online to install the trial version and see what happens.
Well, that failed. I could not get past the sign in with my email to open the program. I typed in my email and hit enter and it just sat there for a very long time. See attached pics.

Hi Kathryn

Please do not install the trial version, I doubt it will help besides being a cut down version with many features removed.
Are you able to re-install the purchased version of CVSX8

From the image you provided earlier showing the text “LOREM IPSUM” what happens if you double click those words on the preview screen.
You should get the curser within the text allowing you to type…….

I get no cursor! I double click and nothing. A couple of times now updating the software with the two patches it would fix it for a few minutes and than bam gone again. I just took back the software to the store and got a new one. I got the Ultimate one instead and it still is doing the very same thing!!!

Oh God help me! LOL

I see that you have upgraded to Windows 10... I don't think that upgrade would have automatically upgraded your NVidia graphics driver. I see that NVidia has provided a Windows 10 update for it at http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverRe ... 7789/en-us Try installing that and see if your problem goes away...

Thank YOU Ken, Just downloaded the update so lets see how this goes

Did the update and I was able to get the cursor active for a few try's. Its so strange I will be double clicking over and over and over and than it will catch and than sometimes it won't. I was able to get it after the update here a few times but it still is being very difficult.

Maybe it is my mouse?
