odd problem PSP X8 Ultimate

Post by harry1954 »

I was tired and thought I was getting PSP X8 Ultimate but it wasn't Ultimate. Customer Service sent me the link to cancel the purchase, I uninstalled everything and then purchased and downloaded and installed Ultimate. When I use the 64 bit version sometimes I get the Windows has a problem and is closing the program message. I uninstalled PSP X8 Ultimate and reinstalled it but I still get it. The other night it worked for a while and then started up again. The 32 bit version seems to work. Any suggestions?

Another user might come along with a suggestion but since it sounds like you are within 30 days of purchase you can contact Corel for support. You will need your PIN number that was assigned when you registered the product. It can be found by signing into your account page at Corel.com.

I know PSP should work with the 64-bit version, but ever since Corel started with the 64-bit for their PSP X6 version, there have been problems.
That is no different with X8 Ultimate, especially if you want to use other plugins than Corel's own.
I always advise my visitors/members to install the 32-bit version only, as there seems to be no problem with that version.

You should uninstall using the uninstall programme that's available in a thread up above. When reinstalling, install the recommended.

Always install both 32 and 64bit versions.

Non 64bit plugins will work in PSP 64bit. Even some old 32bit plugins may not work in PSP 32bit version.

Topaz are 64bit plugins and will work fine in PSP 64bit.

I think we are missing a 'not' somewhere here...?

Well, I've gotten PSP X8 to work in Windows but now none of the add-ons work: Perfect Effect or After Shot Pro. I'm at a loss. Waiting for them to contact me back.

Very appreciative of Corel Support Paul Gaudaur, he diagnosed my problem as not up to date display drivers and pointed me to the source for new drivers. All is well now with PSP X8 and the extras.
