X8 brush problem

Post by JudyM »

I am having problems in X8 with brushes.

When used continuously the brushes keep skipping impressions every now and then. This is particularly noticeable with directional brushes.

This seems to be also when they overlay the edges of images on layers below as if they are "reading" them ..very spooky!
The problem is intermittent but particularly bad with Vector stroke and vector paint scripts.

Can anyone help?

Did you check the Brush Variance Palette? Are all the settings back to Normal or 0% Jitter?
You get the Brush Variance Palette with F11.

Thanks for your reply, Cas.
I double checked all settings including brush variance and all seems OK.

In this image I have placed three "brush" layers above a vector layer. The only variance that the brush has is rotation "direction"
If I click, hold down the shift key and click elsewhere, I get gaps.
If I freehand over vector images below, I end up with incomplete impressions. The circular attempt was using Vector stroke script [vector paint gives a similar result]

I have sorted the problem by ticking "smart edge" on and off again a couple of times :)
Although it was unticked it was still functioning :(
