I cannot get more than 2 gigs of avi video file into my u-lead program. I am editing on adobe 6.0 and have the matrox rt2500. Its making me crazy. I am using windows xp home version. Nobody can seem to figure out what the problem is.

i think you need to make an AVI2 (OpenDML) format to break the 2gb AVI file barrier. In other words, try saving the AVI file as DV-AVI (using a format template) in Premiere.
Or better, since you are using Premiere, why not save it in MPEG2 DVD compliant format? When this is loaded in WorkShop, it will skip re-encoding the video saving you time when you author it in workshop.
