Prepare Record Failed!!! #0

Post by ktech »

Ive searched this on google but found no procedure to fix this. Prepare Record Failed!!! #0
After I disable record system audio screencap works fine but no audio is recorded. Defeats purpose of a screencap software.
I upgraded from VideoStudio X6 to X8. Screencap failed to work since X8 upgrade. I google searched this error and it seems like its been around since X5 era.
Ive already tried uninstalled videostudio and reinstalling to lastest 8.5 version.
I contacted corel support early Aug 2015 and the response was the ticket was sent to an engineering team.
Im on the cusp of leaving VideoStudio all because of this.
Anyone, have any fix for this????

I have no problems capturing video aong with the audio using X7, X8 or X8.5

Something in your system is preventing the audio capture. Can you describe exactly what you are doin?

I am using Video studio X7 and had the same problem. I thought it was because i am using an M-Audio sound card but that's not the case, I tried a few settings and nothing changed until i set the sound card to Stereo output not 5.1 surround as my default speaker output was. Now i can capture the screen with system sound.Hope it helps.
Best of Luck
