Triple Scoop Music

Post by MrSpecies7 »

I just posted a video to You-Tube of some footage I filmed from my drone.I used some of the tracks that came with Video Studio Pro X8 from the Triple Scoops Music and had my video siezed by You Tube for a copy-right strike.
Is the music INCLUDED with the program not Royalty Free???
If that is the case then there should be a warning as it has locked my channel in dispute.
Any info would be helpful , thanks

Wow... I just purchased VSPx8 and was going to use some of the included tracks as background music in future projects, thinking it was "royalty free" or maybe "public domain", seeing as it is included in every single copy of the program and encouraged to be used.

As a related note, I have had some Classical music I once used get "Flagged" by YouTube and it was a Public Domain work (I went and double-checked to be sure). I fought that incident, with links showing it was Public Domain material and I won the use of them. Apparently, there are groups of people that form a "company" and go around YouTube videos claiming they have Rights to the music, when in reality it is mostly Public Domain works. They seem to be unscrupulous individuals 'trying to make a buck' of off tracks and people that will not notice or fight the claims. Perhaps you may have fallen victim to one of these groups, but I do not know enough about the material included in VSP to say for sure.

Hopefully someone will come along with some precise information on this.

from the Corel website
Triple Scoop Music
Capture the mood of your movie with the perfect soundtrack. Get 17 royalty-free music tracks from Triple Scoop Music.

and I found this on the Triple Scoop website
YouTube's "Content ID" System - Why did I get a notice & what does it mean?

Record Labels, Music Licensors and Copyright holders around the world use YouTube's Content ID System to identify and manage their content on YouTube.

How does it work?

Every video uploaded to YouTube is scanned against a database of files that have been submitted to YouTube by content owners. When Content ID identifies a match between your video and a file in this database, it sends a notification message that copyrighted content has been identified in your video.

While this message may sound worrisome, it's not. The software is simply making a match between a song in the database and your video.

Once YouTube's software identifies a "match", it is up to the owner or licensor of the music to determine what to do.

In the case of Triple Scoop Music, rest assured that if you have a valid license for any music matched to Triple Scoop Music by YouTube's Content ID system, we will never authorize advertising, takedown notices or any other action on your video.

I have never heard of Youtube blocking a whole account before they usually just refuse to publish the one video in question - so it seems you just have to tell Youtube that you have a royalty free licence via Corel videostudio

When it happened to me once I just explained that the video was made in Videostudio and that I had used a track supplied as Royalty Free with the programme and gave them the name of it and that cleared it all up and they published my video

i can't find the actual wording at the moment but some where in amongst all the wordage about Videostudio it does say that you can use all the music supplied in the programme as long as your video is not for financial gain - so unless you are making money from your video you just need to give them the facts.

Thanks for the info.
I did have this happen before way back with Corel X5 and did just report to You-Tube that I had the music from my rendering suite.
This time however I had a bit different experience.I tried to first remove the track ,only to be told i had no permission to edit, and also that the monetisation for the video has been transferred to the copyright holder.
I did manage to take the video down through my dashboard, but contrary to what the Triple Scoop site says action was taken to seize the rights on my video
I was not even able to complete the "save changes" portion of the upload process instead receiving a notice that my changes could not be saved as I did not have permission to edit the video.
I have been uploading videos to You Tube for three years and have never seen a video tagged before it was fully posted.
Thanks for your help folks,I may try another video with a TS track just to see what happens.
