PSPX8 Ultimate appeals but don't need ASP

Post by leahcimi »

Having tried PSPX8, I find I can live with the 64-bit version as I don't miss too many plug-ins and, inany case, I can keep my old 32-bit X6 for those I need.

The appeal of Perfectly Clear steers me towards Ultimate but I already have AfterShot Pro so I would be wasting money.

Any suggestions?

If you buy X8, it will install both the 64 bit and 32 bit versions. You can only open one at a time, but that would also cover your 32 bit plug-ins within X8 architecture.

And you're not really losing money. If Perfectly Clear is what you are after, that should make the Ultimate version worth it, regardless of ASP...

Well you aren't really asking a question are you? But I also don't use ASP....but I found the other things were worth the upgrade.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.

Not quite as good a point as it might seem. Ken has just verified for me that the Perfectly Clear 2 SE that comes bundled with X8 Ultimate is not the full version of Perfectly Clear downloadable from their site. It is missing the Beautify and Beautify Plus filters so is a somewhat stripped down version of the program. Whether you can upgrade it to the full version for a reasonable cost is something you would have to check with Athentech.
