No recorded sound with Win7 or Win8

Hi all - I hope someone can assist me with a VideoStudio problem using Win7 and Win8.
I have been using VideoStudio X6 Ultimate for some time on my ASUS computer using an AMD 2-core 3.10 CPU and 6gb of Ram with XP Pro OPs - all has been working fine, but recently I upgraded to Win7 and I lost the audio recording ability within VSUx6. I use to have STEREOMIX in the audio setup when using XP but all I have with Win7 is LINE-IN and I have lost the audio record in VideoStudio.
As the audio is builtin to my motherboard I tried to update the audio driver to 2.79 but still no joy. I then changed over to Win8 operating system but the same problem in VSU happens. In the Capture area of VS all I get is "2-high def audio device" in the setup. This audio problem has also effected two other programs, Skype and Echolink.
I am at a total loss as to know what to do next and don't really know where to go from here apart from buying a new i7 computer which I cant really afford. It has been suggested that I buy a separate audio card and plug that into my ASUS mother board and see if that cures the problem. This only happened when I went to Win7 / Win8 - it was fine under XP.
Did anyone have this same problem with Win7 and Win8 ????

Have you installed all the apps that came with the motherboard, looking at the asus website it looks like there may well be an audio app that needs to be installed.

Thanks for the reply Graham - the problem is the original CD that came with the ASUS Motherboard with all the drivers on it is for XP only and wont load under Win7. I have tried to find the ASUS audio update on the web myself but wasn't sure where to look - Corel Support found an update for me and I loaded that in but unfortunately the audio record problem still exists. What is the link for the updated driver just in case it is different to what I have tried.

I have no idea I just googled the model number of your motherboard and read about it.
I just went back to the asus site, and here is the drivers page, with a link to choose your OS.

Thank you skier-hughes (Graham) for the ASUS link - I downloaded the updates you sent and Presto all is now working fine thanks to you.
Funny I went to that ASUS site but didn't see the update page, and Corel Support also must have missed it as they sent me another link but the updates they directed to didn't work.
Anyway, all the programs that were not working are now fine - thanks again Graham for your assistance.
