.pspimage backwards compatibility

.pspimage backwards compatibility

It seems that when X8 is installed and when saving as .pspimage the default compatibility is for X8 compatibility. Does anyone know what, if anything might be lost in layers, for example, if one saves a layered and adjusted image in X8 with backwards compatibility set for X4 through X7 and opens that image in one of those earlier versions?
