A Few Quick Announcements from the Corel Photo team [PSP]

Post by Alex Brazeau »

Hey there PaintShop Pro Community! Alex from the Corel Photo team here. I'm dropping in today to make a couple of quick announcements and tell you about something I’ve been teasing here in the forum for a little while now—the official Corel Photo blog, Points of View.

In case you haven't heard yet, the blog is now live at http://blog.paintshoppro.com. As I think I’ve mentioned in a couple of previous posts, our goal here is to introduce a central hub that will not only provide us with a platform to share all the original and curated content we have in store for you (from how-tos and feature articles to news, special announcements and lots more), but also a place where we can connect more directly with you, our community members, by sharing your photos and artwork and telling your stories, while getting your feedback and chatting with you directly in our comments section.

I’ve been posting articles on the blog for the last few weeks now (mostly written by Greg and I so far) and we’ve recently welcomed in our first guest contributor. Many of you might know her, she’s a regular here in the forum—Carole, aka. Cassel of Scrapbook Campus. Just yesterday, I published Part 2 of her series on Picture Tubes in PaintShop Pro, so jump on over, show her some support and give it a read or leave a comment—here's a direct link: http://blog.paintshoppro.com/picture-tu ... ro-part-2/ and here's a link to Part 1: http://blog.paintshoppro.com/picture-tu ... tshop-pro/

Call for Community Submissions
And that leads me to my next announcement… I know many of you here in the forum have all kinds of knowledge when it comes to working in PaintShop Pro, so many of you come from varied backgrounds and work on vastly different projects, from photography to compositing, graphic design to video game development, scrapbooking and more. I’m excited to have the blog so we can really start to spread that knowledge to even more PaintShop Pro users and to show people what PSP can do. So I’m putting out an open call for community content submissions.

Have an idea for an article on the blog? I'd love to hear it!

Did you write up a tutorial to help others learn a new technique? Send it over and let’s chat about it!

Do you use Paintshop Pro for something unique? Get in touch, we should tell people about it together!

If you’re published on the blog, we’ll provide full credit and will also share links to your published work through our social media channels. You can submit ideas by posting in this thread or, if you’ve written a longer tutorial or something you’d rather not share publicly, you can send it to me in a private message or email it to photo.media@corel.com.

Fan Friday Now Has A New Home
Speaking of things being sent in from the community, I’m also happy to announce that Fan Fridays has now been moved from its temporary home on Facebook to its new home on the Points of View blog!
In an effort to help make Fan Fridays more accessible to everyone, we’ve given the gallery a new home. Now, every two weeks, you can drop by Points of View to see the new Fan Friday post, where you’ll find all the latest submissions from the community.

If you'd like to be featured in the gallery, you can always end us your photos, digital art, graphic designs, scrapbook layouts—anything you’ve made in PaintShop Pro—and your work could appear next! Send them in through email to fanfridays@corel.com, post to the PaintShop Pro Facebook wall http://facebook.com/corelpaintshop, or tweet it to us on Twitter @CPaintShopPro.
