trial x8 will not open
I've installed the PSP x8 trial version twice but it will not open. The splash screen appears blank with no start buttons to click...just a dumb white screen, although at the end of the install program it said next to start program. Splash screen appears but nothing happens. I am using a Sony VAIO with Win 10 64bit, 8 gig mem, 1Tb hd with graphics board factory installed.

Re: trial x8 will not open
You're the first one to report this in this forum. Have you tried doing a complete uninstall and reinstall? There are tools in a sticky near the top of this forum for a clean uninstall, but I don't know if they have been updated to include uninstalling X8.tct2125 wrote:I've installed the PSP x8 trial version twice but it will not open. Re: trial x8 will not open
Same problem here. I've been using PSPX7 just fine for months, and all of a sudden it's started freezing constantly (that's a problem for another post though).
I decided to try the PSPX8 trial to see if it fixes the problem of freezing, but I can't even get it to launch.
It starts by asking me to register the software with an email address and country. There is no option to skip the registration. I enter my email address, select Register, and it then goes to a blank white screen and *nothing*...
The only option I have is to click the close button in top right of the window, which asks "Are you sure you want to cancel?". If I say "No", it goes back to the white screen, if I say "Yes", it closes the program and asks me to purchase PSPX8 if I'm happy with it (which obviously I'm not).
HELP!!! I'm trying to get some important work done and I can't get either PSPX7 or PSPX8 to function properly!!
I'm using a Microsoft Surface Pro 3, recently updated to Windows 10. I have used PSPX7 since the update to Windows 10 and it was fine until yesterday when it just started freezing up all the time.

Re: trial x8 will not open
I'm having exactly the same problem with the PSP X8 trial on Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3. X2 and X4 still work fine, but am getting the same problem with the registration screen - asks for info and then just goes blank. Each time I try I get a mail from Corel to say "Thank you for registering" and on my Corel.com account I can see the trial has been registered, but that doesn't seem to do any good, still forced to the "please register" screen every time I try to start the X8 trial and only get the blank screen afterwards. I have tried all the obvious things, restarts, reinstall, tried to "activate" with the trial key specified on my Corel.com account next to the trial, nothing works.

Re: trial x8 will not open
I think I've seen this issue in other threads also, so I suspect that it's a Corel issue and should be dealt with by contacting them either through support or, likely with faster results, through their Facebook group. Issues posted on social media seem to get faster attention than those raised in official support channels.
Just a suggestion.

Re: trial x8 will not open
So I tried installing PSPX8 onto my wifes computer (also a Surface Pro 3, Windows 10) and it worked fine. She has far fewer third party applications installed though, so I thought I'd take the drastic step of doing a clean install of Windows on my Surface and then install just PSPX8 and nothing else.
I've just done that, and it still doesn't work on my machine, so I'm really stumped now as to what the difference between my Surface and my wifes could possibly be, that's stopping PSPX8 from launching?

Reset your Internet Explorer.
1. Press WINDOWS KEY + R
2. Type INETCPL.CPL and hit OK (this will pull up Internet Options)
3. Go to the advanced tab and hit RESET
This worked for me. Even if you don't use IE try this out.

I also have the same problem.
I have windows 10. I reset my internet explorer but that doesn't seem to solve the problem for me.

Try this :SaBaRaDi wrote:I also have the same problem.
1 Open up the Control Panel
2. Change your view from Category to Large or Small Icons towards the top right.
3. Double-click on Internet Options
4. Click on the Security Tab
5. Click on the Default Level button
6. Select the Advanced Tab
7. Click on Restore advanced settings and then click on Reset just below that
8. Place a check mark into delete personal settings and then click on "Reset"
9. Once that is complete click on close.
10. Launch the Corel software and proceed with the registration.

Re: trial x8 will not open
Had this issue and fixed it on a win10 machine.
Don't have the machine in front of me, so this is from memory (and I've been to the pub since).. but when I installed I noticed a nag bar at the top of the dialogue window, asking for permissions for scripts to run, i.e. this has been writted as some sort of web component. I had to right click on this and allow. Then the install went through ok. If I'd simply closed the warning it would take my license key and simply not install.
Hope this helps.
